$3,000 scholarship available to East Grays Harbor students


High school and college students in East Grays Harbor are eligible for a $3,000 scholarship from Green Diamond Resource Co.

The company’s Mark E. Reed Scholarship board recently announced it will offer eight scholarships for students in Green Diamond’s Mason and East Grays Harbor operating communities, employees of Green Diamond or children of employees.

The scholarship program was established in 1947 in the memory of Mark E. Reed, Simpson Logging Co. president from 1914 until his death in 1933. The deadline for applications is Friday, Feb. 28.
