Boater safety class set for March 22


The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Montesano Fire Department, will offer a free boater education course open to all Washington boaters, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, at the Montesano Fire Hall, 310 E. Pioneer St.

All boat operators born on or after Jan. 1, 1955 are required to carry a Boater Education Card when operating a boat in Washington State. Cards cost $10 and never expire. The law applies to operators of motorboats of 15 horsepower or greater.
