Holiday trash schedule

Pickup for garbage and recycling stays as usual for Thanksgiving in Aberdeen, Grays Harbor County and Hometown Sanitation in Hoquiam. “If your pickup day is Thanksksgiving Day, Hometown Sanitation will be on schedule and will be picking up garbage and recycle for residents on Thursday, Nov. 28, not the day before as was done in the past,” said Brian Smith of Hoquiam Sanitation, which can be reached at 360-533-7319.

The Christmas and New Year’s holidays are different for Aberdeen and the county. LeMay’s Paul Dionne said that, though Thanksgiving will present no service interuptions, for Christmas and New Year’s, services on or after those holidays will be delayed by one day. “As an example, Christmas is on a Wednesday this year. So, Wednesday customers will get picked up on Thursday. Thursday customers will get picked up on Friday … and so on.

The transfer station scales are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

“We will close early on the day after Thanksgiving as well as New Year’s Eve and Christmas Eve, at 3 p.m.,” he said.
