Lip Dub at Aberdeen High to salute Kurt Cobain

The “Lip Dub” performance at Aberdeen High School will salute Kurt Cobain and Nirvana, advisor Barb Page and her students Emily Fisher and Kirsten Kell said Tuesday evening.

Nirvana just entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on first ballot and it is the 20th anniversary of Cobain’s death. The Aberdeen native would have been 47.

The school-wide mashup of songs will be videotaped on May 28 after last period, around 1:45 p.m.

Among other songs and performers are: “Can’t Hold Us” by Seattle native Macklemore, “All Night” by Icona Pop and “The Man” by aloe blacc.

The song by Nirvana?

“Smells Like Teen Spirit,” of course.
