SHELTON — Officials from Green Diamond Resource Co.’s Mark E. Reed Scholarship board announced recently that eight $3,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school and under-graduate college students in 2014.
Eligible individuals must be Green Diamond Resource Company employees, sons or daughters of employees, or students in one of Green Diamond’s Mason and East Grays Harbor operating communities.
The scholarship program was established in 1947 in the memory of Mark E. Reed, who was Simpson Logging Co. president from 1914 until his death in 1933.

The deadline for receiving applications is Friday, Feb. 28.
