SMILES FOR LIFE: New Affordable Preventive Oral Health Program is here in Aberdeen known as the Senior Center Dental Access Program. This new program gives you tips on how to keep your teeth for a lifetime. Clinics are usually the first &third Thurs. of the month. The services provided are Dental Assessment (including oral cancer screening), Dental Cleanings (routine and periodontal), Fluoride Applications, Oral Health Education and Referrals to Dental and Medical Providers. HARBORS HOME HEALTH &HOSPICE FOOT CLINIC: For Seniors or other persons unable to reach or care for their own feet, there are foot clinics throughout Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties at various times and locations. MEDICARE HEALTH INSURANCE: The Olympic Area Agency on Aging and SHIBA (Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors) provide answers to Medicare Health Insurance Questions. Are you happy with your current health insurance coverage? Does your current Medicare plan meet your needs? WASHINGTON TELEPHONE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (WTAP): WTAP provides low-income individuals a local telephone landline for $8 per month and will also pay for some or all of the connection fee. WTAP assistance is available to people receiving assistance from DSHS and who have a DSHS client ID number. Call your local telephone company, tell them you are eligible for the WTAP program and give them your DSHS client ID number. If you are not eligible for WTAP assistance you may qualify for a free voice mailbox. For more information, you can call the UTC at 1-888-333-9882 or visit www.utc.wa.gov. Another option is Lifeline Assistance. Lifeline Assistance is only available for one wireless (cell) phone per household. SOCIAL SECURITY INFORMATION: Ready for Medicare even if you are not ready to retire? If you are within four months of turning age 65 (or older); want to receive Medicare benefits only; plan to delay applying for monthly Social Security benefits for four months or longer; and reside in the United States or one of its territories/commonwealths, you can apply for Medicare now. HOME CARE REFERRAL REGISTRY: The Home Care Referral Registry serves consumers/clients receiving in-home care services through the Department of Social and Health Services or those on the COPES (Community Options Program Entry System) program. They are also helping clients receiving services through the Division of Developmental Disabilities find the right Individual Provider. The Referral Registry matches pre-qualified, pre-screened, individual providers with Medicaid eligible clients who need in-home care services.
