“It’s a fun time. It will brighten your winter up. That’s for sure,” said Debbie Adolphsen of the Elma Chamber, noting that between 2,500 and 3,000 people have attended the event the past few years. In previous years, it has been held at the county fairgrounds.
The festival also features multiple food booths, offering seafood and other coastal cuisine, gift and merchandise booths and a big silent auction with great local items.
“This is our biggest event by far,” said Adolphsen. “It takes the most work and most preparation. We use 60 volunteers working in two shifts.”
Entertainment kicks off at 1 p.m. with the Elma High School Jazz Band. They are followed at 2 p.m. by The Olson Brothers Band. The Olson Brothers were recently announced as finalists in the Nashville Country Showdown songwriting contest. From 4 to 6 p.m. the bluesy Kim Archer Band will perform. At 6:30, local favorites the Hat Trick Band will finish out the day performing favorites until 8:30 p.m.
