East County residents Ermine and Betty Jane (Milton) Mullins will celebrate 50 years of marriage this week.
The couple was married March 9, 1964, in a ceremony officiated by the Reverend Elmer and Josephine Milton in their Raymond home.
Ermine retired from the Raymond Weyerhaeuser sawmill in 1999 after 36 years while Betty Jane was a homemaker and raised their five kids. The couple now resides in Elma after 41 years of living in the Pacific County area.
Their children are Heidi Black of Elma, Wes Mullins of Albany, Ore., Jacob Mullins of Spokane, Joshua Mullins of Aberdeen and Candi Burns of Aberdeen. They have 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Mullins children are hosting a surprise potluck celebration for the couple at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 8, at the Aberdeen Elks. Everyone is invited and the family requests no gifts.
The Reverend Norman and Carol Sorensen will officiate at a renewal of the Mullins’ wedding vows.
