Clifford and Maxine Woodward celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 4 at their Central Park home. They were married in Jacksonville, Fla. in 1944 while Cliff was in flight training with the U.S. Navy.
The Woodwards lived in their home state of California after the war and Cliff was recalled to active duty during the Korean conflict and again served on carriers in the Pacific. He remained in the Navy and over the years the family was stationed in San Diego, Pensacola, Fla, Massachusetts, New York and California again.
His last duty station was at Sand Point Naval Air Station on Puget Sound where he was Personnel Officer. He retired from the Navy in 1969 and the couple lived in Rainier, Ore., southern California, New Mexico and North Carolina before returning to the Northwest in 2004.
