NASHVILLE – Nurse practitioners and nurse practitioner advocates, recipients of the prestigious American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) 2014 State Award for Excellence, were honored at an awards ceremony and reception held during the AANP 2014 National Conference June 17-22 in Nashville, Tennesse. Tammy Davis, ARNP with Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, was among the recipients honored.
The State Award for Nurse Practitioner Excellence, founded in 1991, recognizes a nurse practitioner (NP) in a state who demonstrates excellence in practice.
“From the quality of care she provides to patients, to the leadership roles she accepts both in and outside of our organization, Tammy has truly defined herself as a leader in the broader healthcare community,” said Renee Jensen, CEO at Summit Pacific Medical Center. “The respect she has earned from both the medical staff and her patients has made it possible for other future leaders to follow in her footsteps. We are fortunate to have her on our team.”
Davis has been with Summit Pacific since early 2007. She has served as both Summit Pacific’s medical staff president, as well as president of the East Grays Harbor medical staff team. She was the lead provider in helping implement the medical center’s electronic medical record as well as an integral part of the Patient Centered Medical Home project. Tammy also assisted Summit Pacific Medical Foundation raise more than $500,000 in their capital campaign, and has contributed multiple editorials to the local papers on various health topics.
Summit Pacific will be celebrating Davis’ award and accomplishments Friday, July 25, at 2:30 pm. All those who wish to attend and congratulate Davi our invited.
