4 injured in crash west of Hoquiam

A Hoquiam man will face a negligent driving charge after crashing into two other cars just west of Hoquiam Thursday.

Charles A. McKinney, 38, was heading south on State Route 109 at about 4:30 Thursday afternoon when his SUV crossed the center line, according the Washington State Patrol memo.

He struck a car driven by a 73-year-old man with a 48-year-old woman, both from Tizzano Val Parma, Italy. McKinney’s car also struck an SUV with three 58-year-old women from Tonasket.

McKinney and the women from Tonasket were all injured and transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital. The Italian couple were uninjured.

The State Patrol cites McKinney’s excessive speed as the cause of the crash, and the memo states he will face a second-degree negligent driving charge.
