Aberdeen man arrested for kicking in motel room door

A 26-year-old Aberdeen man allegedly kicked in a door at the Thunderbird Motel where a pregnant woman and a man were sleeping early Saturday morning, the Aberdeen Police Department reported.

Officers responded at about 2:40 a.m. to reports of an unknown problem at the motel, Capt. John Green said. They found the man, who appeared to be intoxicated, in his room and discovered he had allegedly kicked in the door to another room on the same floor.

The people inside had been asleep, and reported the man was the one who had kicked in their door. They didn’t know the man.

Green said the man was apparently looking for an unknown man who had allegedly assaulted a female friend.

The man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of first-degree burglary and booked into the City of Aberdeen Jail.
