Police are investigating the stabbing, for “no apparent reason,” of an Aberdeen man who was drinking with a group of people Saturday, Aberdeen Police Department Capt. John Green reported.
The man, a 52-year-old Aberdeen resident, told police through an interpreter that he had been drinking with a group of people at his home in the 1900 block of Aberdeen Avenue when a man stabbed him in the torso.
The victim was able to drive himself to Grays Harbor Community Hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries.
“According to those at the scene, a male subject in the group began stabbing the victim for no apparent reason,” Green wrote in a press release.
Green said Monday afternoon the suspect had been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
