The deadline to submit a completed letter of application to join the Aberdeen School Board is 4 p.m. Friday, June 20.
Letters should include a brief biographical sketch, information about training, interests, experience on policy boards, community and/or school activities and availability to attend regularly scheduled meetings, participate in workshops and review study materials.
The applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a qualified voter who resides in the school district. All interested persons are encouraged to apply.
The board will interview up to five candidates at a special meeting on Wednesday, July 2 in the community room at Aberdeen High School. The meeting is open to the public, no decision is expected that night.
Following the interviews and prior to making a final decision, the board may choose to go into an executive session to discuss the qualifications of the applicants or it may announce the date and time for a future executive session.
The board expects to make a decision at the July 15 meeting.
