Jessica Jurasin is a late entry into the competition for the open seat on the Aberdeen School Board. Jurasin is a pediatric nurse at the Pediatric Outpatient Clinic Children’s Health Center. She and her husband have two sons who attend McDermoth Elementary.
She will join two other candidates — retired high school teacher Dr. William “Doc” Carter and architect and mall manager Jamie Walsh — at a special public meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the community room at Aberdeen High School.
The position opened up when Doug Smith left for another state. The board will likely vote on its choice at the July 15 regular school board meeting.
