APD responds to call from gunshot victim

Aberdeen Police Department responded to a report of a man alleging he had been the victim of a gunshot wound in Aberdeen, just prior to 6 a.m. on Saturday, according to Aberdeen Police Sgt. CJ Chastain.

It is currently looking into the connection of the incident to another that occurred about an hour prior to that event in Elma. That incident was a “vehicle prowl-type situation” in which the vehicle’s owner is said to have shot a firearm at the suspect, according to the department.

Chastain said of the gunshot wound call that there is currently “not any evidence to indicate that it was an independent event.”

The gunshot victim’s condition is currently unknown.
