Barnes Florist marks retirement with open house

After 55 years of wedding bouquets, funeral arrangements, prom corsages and big mums for the Hoquiam-Aberdeen football games, Barnes Florist will be locking its doors for the last time at the end of the month.

Brad and Nancy Barnes have lots of wonderful memories from their more than five decades of helping Harbor families commemorate the milestones with beautiful flowers, balloons and potted plants.

“We’re looking forward to celebrate with all of the old friends who became loyal customers and all of the loyal customers who became good friends,” said Brad.

Everyone is invited to stop by the shop at 405 N. Park between noon and 4 p.m., Saturday, April 12, for their Customer Appreciation Open House.

Coffee, cake, cookies and door prizes will be offered.
