An 18-year-old Aberdeen man was seriously injured after the car he was driving crashed head-on into a log truck north of Hoquiam Friday afternoon, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Cody M. Johnson was heading northbound on Highway 101 about 9 1/2 miles north of Hoquiam at 1 p.m. Friday when he crossed the center line and struck the northbound log truck. Nathan B. Raffelson, 19, of Montesano, was behind the log truck and hit Johnson’s car, sending it off the roadway, according to the State Patrol memo.
The driver of the truck, Glen J. Dennis, 38, of Hoquiam, was injured and transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital. Raffelson was also injured and went to Community Hospital in a private vehicle.
Johnson was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
No information on the condition of the three men was available at press time Friday night.
The road was blocked for more than five hours, the State Patrol said.
