Grays Harbor County is holding an emergency preparedness “tabletop exercise” on June 18, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at 310 W. Spruce St. in Montesano.
A tabletop exercise is designed to show how a disaster can affect the region and what may be needed to assess and update current emergency and disaster plans. It is also an opportunity to discuss barriers organizations and individuals face when trying to be an asset to the community in the event of a disaster.
Invited are businesses, fire districts, community emergency response teams, service organizations and faith-based organizations.
“We have not seen many of you for quite some time,” notes Charles Wallace, Deputy Director of Emergency Management at the county.
RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org to be sure there is adequate space for all participants. The venue on Spruce Street may change depending on how many people respond, he said.
