An Aberdeen woman was injured Thursday morning when she lost control of her SUV and struck a barrier and a tractor trailer on State Route 101 south of Cosmopolis this morning, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Kimberly A. Fleury, 35, was heading southbound at about 8:10 a.m. Thursday when she lost control of her vehicle around a curve. She struck the side barrier, then crossed the center line and struck a northbound tractor trailer driven by Karl R. Schaffer, 55, of Chehalis.
The vehicles blocked both lanes of the highway for about 40 minutes, according to the State Patrol’s memo. Fleury was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital, where she was listed in satisfactory condition Thursday afternoon. Schaffer was not injured. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
The State Patrol reported the cause of the collision was speed, and cited Fleury for driving too fast for conditions.
