The Chehalis River Basin Flood Authority presented “Reducing Flood Damage and Enhancing Aquatic Speciess” in Chehalis and Montesano this past week.

Sixty people turned up at the Chehalis meeting at the Veterans Memorial Museum on Wednesday. Only five made it to the Montesano meeting held at City Hall, Project Manager Jim Kramer reported Friday.
Topics covered include: flooding in the basin, cost of flood protection, potential water retention structures, aquatic species enhancement, local flood projects and an assessment of local floodplain management programs.
