Former Ocosta student arrested over Facebook threats

A 19-year-old former Ocosta High School student is in custody after allegedly threatening two former and current students via social media.

Westport Police Chief William Gibson said the suspect wrote on Facebook that he would confront the victims at Ocosta High School, and threatened to shoot a student. The Facebook page also showed several photos of firearms.

“Obviously, the victims were in fear for their lives because of these threats,” Gibson said.

Westport Police and Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the suspect at his home Thursday night. Gibson said officers didn’t find any of the firearms pictured on the Facebook page.

The suspect was booked in the Grays Harbor County Jail for felony harassment.
