National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 26. Two local events will provide free, no-questions-asked collection of unused medications.
The Hoquiam and Elma police departments will both collect medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All medications will be accepted so long as the container will not leak.
“This take back day is a great opportunity to clean your medicine cabinet of unwanted, unneeded or expired medications,” Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Myers wrote in a press release. “Safe disposal prevents drugs from getting into the hands of children or drug abusers looking for a quick high.”
The Hoquiam station is at 215 10th St. The Elma station is at 124 N 3rd St.
