Free Heart Health Class and Food at Summit Pacific Medical Center

A free class, “Heart Disease and Nutrition,” is offered at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma on Friday, Feb. 28 from 4 to 5 p.m. The center is at 600 E. Main St.

The class will be led by one of Providence Health System’s leading cardiologist’s, Dr. Robert Wark. He will discuss: who should be concerned about heart disease, what is a heart attack, signs and symptoms, what to do if experiencing or witnessing a heart attack, how lifestyle choices affect your risks and how to prevent heart disease and heart attack.

Chef Brandon Smith will talk about a heart healthy diet and given cooking demonstrations. The audience may sample some of Smith’s heart healthy recipes.

Summit Pacific Medical Center will host similar community education seminars on the fourth Friday of every month from from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Kelsey Conference room.
