A Hoquiam couple are parents of the first baby born on Grays Harbor in 2014. Kaileah Lynn Hernandez was born to Ashley Bonell and Dago Hernandez at 11:26 a.m. on New Year’s Day at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. Kaileah was a healthy 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 and three-quarters inches long. Ashley was under the care of Dr. Carey Martens. Kaileah is the first child for the couple.
The Family Birth Center at the hospital delivers nearly 600 babies per year. “We have mothers from Grays Harbor, Pacific and Jefferson Counties choosing to come to our Regional Birth Center to deliver their babies” said Family Birth Director Barbara Connett.
