HAVA fundraiser is Saturday in Raymond

The Harbor Association of Volunteers for Animals (HAVA) is hosting a spaghetti feed and karaoke Saturday, July 19, at the Raymond Elks. Dinner will be served from 6-8 p.m., with singing to follow.

“In addition to a delicious spaghetti dinner including bread, salad and the best cupcakes in town,” says Mary Mast, HAVA Board Member, “we have put together a unique silent auction; choose from several new and gently used designer purses including Dooney &Bourke, Fendi, Gucci, Betsey Johnson, and Coach as well as many other well known brands. In addition, we’ve got several pieces of really unusual jewelry and a great raffle item featuring a faux ostrich purse with lots of girly stuff inside!”

Tickets are $10 per person and will be available at the door. Take-out dinners are available.

“HAVA spays or neuters more than 300 cats and dogs a year and it costs us $30,000+ annually,” says Mast. “We need your help to fill our spay/neuter coffers — all proceeds from the dinner and auction will be put toward our spay/neuter programs including our assistance program where anyone in need can apply for a voucher from HAVA. You pay a small co-pay and we pay the rest! We also trap, spay or neuter more than 100 feral cats every year which helps everyone in the community. And, every animal we find homes for is spayed or neutered before they leave our shelter.”
