Hoquiam man arrested for child porn

A Hoquiam man was arrested Wednesday on charges he possessed and distributed child pornography, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Jason W. Parks, 35, was arrested for “possessing and dealing a large number of images that show sexually explicit conduct involving minors,” a press release stated.

The investigation started with online tips received by the Seattle Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children unit and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The illegal activity allegedly used three website for blogging and file sharing: Tumblr, Kik and Dropbox.

A search warrant was issued for Parks’ home and the Ocean Shores business where he worked. Searches were conducted Wednesday, and detectives seized digital media devices from his home. No evidence of illegal activity was found at his workplace.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed. Anyone with information about Parks should call 360-704-2410.

Detectives from the State Patrol Missing and Exploited Children’s Task Force, along with detectives from the State Patrol Criminal Investigation Division and the Hoquiam Police Department arrested Parks.
