Hoquiam man charged with child porn

A 35-year-old Hoquiam man is charged with possession of child pornography featuring girls between ages 8 and 12.

Jason W. Parks pleaded not guilty in Grays Harbor Superior Court Monday to one count of first-degree and two counts of second-degree possession of depictions of a minor engagd in sexually explicit conduct.

An investigation was conducted by the Washington State Patrol based on a tip forwarded from the website Tumblr.

A user with the screen name “daddyinneed” had posted 13 images of nude or partially nude pre-pubescent girls from multiple logins. The investigation found the images had been uploaded from a hotel in Ocean Shores and Parks’ home.

He was arrested at his home Jan. 28. Parks told detectives his Tumblr account had recently been deactivated, and he had used five other accounts on the site to search for girls. He said he used a phone app called Kik to trade child pornography.

“I like to give people what they want,” he told police, according to court documents.

He said he used the app to exchange images of children ages 5 to 18.

“I don’t see myself with them,” he allegedly said, but added it was “wrong” and “horrible” to have such images.

Parks is currently charged relating to three of the images, but some others that were found on accounts accessed from his phone and computer show children as young as 4.

The State Patrol High Tech Crime Unit will conduct forensic analysis on electronics found in Parks’ home.
