Hoquiam man dies in log truck accident

A 37-year-old Hoquiam man died Monday when the logging truck he was driving struck a tree and a large stump, the Washington State Patrol reported.

At about 2:30 p.m. Monday, Michael J. Webber was driving his truck northbound on a logging road a mile south of State Route 8 in the Capitol Forest in Thurston County when, for some reason, he missed a curve and left the road. The State Patrol reports he was not wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
