A Hoquiam sex offender has been upgraded to Level 2 after allegedly trespassing and stalking his neighbor.
Christopher S. Grim, 52, was convicted of second-degree sex abuse in Marion County, Ore. in 1995. He currently lives in the 700 block of Polk Street.
Grim was a Level 1 sex offender, considered the least likely to re-offend, until he was arrested Friday.
Grim was allegedly knocking repeatedly on his neighbor’s door on the 1100 block of Soule Avenue, to the point she left her home to stay with family out of fear. At one point Grim was on her property seven times in two days, according to police.
Multiple officers warned Grim he would be arrested if he continued, which he was Friday after his second visit to the home that day.
Level 2 sex offenders are considered more likely to re-offend. Community notifications are issued for Level 2 and 3 offenders and those who register as homeless.
The police report noted there are more than 19,000 sex or kidnapping offenders currently living in Washington state. Approximately 400 of these are registered to Grays Harbor County addresses. About 50 are registered to addresses within the city limits of Hoquiam.
