A 28-year-old man was wounded in the chest “by some type of projectile” in the 200 block of South Boone Street Thursday evening, Capt. John Green of Aberdeen Police Department said.
“It does not appear that the victim was shot with a conventional firearm at this time. It is unknown what exactly caused the man’s injury other than it was some type of projectile,” Green noted, adding the investigation continues.
Officers arrived about 8 p.m. to find the male, “who had a wound to the center of his chest,” Green said. The man was treated at the scene by Aberdeen Fire Department but did not require transport to Grays Harbor Community Hospital.
The victim told officers he was approached by a man he knows and was then wounded in the chest. The suspect fled on foot, police said. Otherwise, the victim did not cooperate, police said.
