A medical event caused a Montesano woman to crash her car into several signs and telephone poles on Highway 12 in Central Park Thursday evening, according to the Washington State Patrol. She was injured in the crash but no other cars were struck.
The 44-year-old woman was heading west at about 5:30 p.m. when her car left the road to the right, hitting a Department of Transportation sign and a telephone pole guy wire before coming back onto the road, hitting the center jersey barrier. The woman’s car bounced back off the roadway to the right, heading down the westbound shoulder before turning left again into the jersey barrier, this time spinning and heading across the eastbound lanes, according to the State Patrol memo.
The car crossed both lanes and hit a telephone pole in the eastbound shoulder, where the car finally came to a stop.
The woman was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital, then transferred to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, where she remained in serious condition Friday. The State Patrol lists the cause of the crash as medical and did not issue any charges.
