A teen who slipped away from the Naselle Youth Camp Sunday evening was quickly chased down by a Pacific County Sheriff’s Office deputy, the office reported.
At about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, staff from the juvenile facility notified dispatch the 17-year-old boy was missing.
A deputy spotted someone matching the teen’s description running along the highway west of the camp. He got out of his car and chased the boy on foot, quickly re-capturing him. He returned the teen to the camp.
The Pacific County Sheriff’s Office was in the process of activating a neighborhood notification of that area regarding the inmate’s escape when the inmate was apprehended.
