One-car crash on Highway 101

No serious injuries were reported Sunday afternoon after a car lost control and slid into a ditch off of U.S. Highway 101, seven miles north of Hoquiam, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Santos Venegas-Lerma, 18, of Humptulips, lost control of his 1995 Acura Integra while driving southbound on the highway near milepost 9 at about 4:20 p.m. The car slid sideways and came to rest in a southbound ditch, according to reports.

Venegas-Lerma, who was wearing his seat-belt, was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, where he was treated and released, according to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, according to the State Patrol.
