Party for Aberdeen School District retirees is next Tuesday

Want to bid farewell to a favorite teacher, education worker or bus driver? The Aberdeen School District retirement party is the evening of June 17, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Aberdeen High School Commons.

Here is the list of people who have announced their retirements since this time last year.

Retiring from the high school are custodians Juanita Sandoval and Robert Lewin and special education teacher Linda Charleton.

Personnel Director Anna Shanks is retiring from the district office as are Mary DeBoer, personnel secretary, and Kim Poulos, para-educator.

Patricia Applin is departing the bus route from Wishkah, which she has driven for more than 20 years.

At the Hopkins Building long-time Office Coordinator Jan Laukkanen and preschool teacher Cheryl Toothman are retiring. The Maintenance Department is losing Earl (Roy) Pauley, who maintained utilities.

Para-educator Connie Marbut is leaving Harbor High.

Special education teacher Kathleen O’Keefe bids farewell to Miller Junior High, Counselor Rene Munro is leaving A.J. West Elementary and Kindergarten teacher Jeanie Yakovich departs McDermoth.

Other elementary school retirements are: Rod DeBoer, custodian, and Elvira (Vera) Kay, para-educator, are leaving Central Park and Para-educator Kris Taylor is leaving Stevens.
