The Aberdeen Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly shot a 19-year-old Aberdeen man in the leg Friday night.
Police responded to reports of shots being fired in the area of East 2nd and North C streets at about 8:55 p.m. Residents reported hearing shots, then seeing “numerous subjects” flee in cars and on foot, according to the press release. Bullet casings were located in the area.
At about 9:30 p.m., officers were told that a 19-year-old man with a gun shot wound to his leg had arrived at Grays Harbor Community Hospital.
The man told police he was walking in the 800 block of East 2nd Street with two other people with a man he knew came out of a house. They exchanged words, then the suspect displayed a gun and shot him.
Both the suspect and the victim fled. The suspect has been identified but has not yet been located, Aberdeen Police said. A description or name may be released at a later time. The investigation is ongoing.
