Polson Museum to host two events this weekend

The Polson Museum will have two events this weekend to celebrate history and the holiday season.

History buffs can stop by the museum today at 2 p.m. for a book signing with Paul Reid, author of “Schafer State Park.” The book, co-authored with Barbara Seal Ogle, focuses on the Schafer Bros. Logging Co. and features several historic photos. Reid will also present an hour-long series of short films commissioned by the logging company during the 1920s and 1930s.

On Sunday, the museum will host the annual Christmas Open House from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. Guests can enjoy cider, sweets and a 2 p.m. musical performance from the Golden Trio — Libby Carrico, Cora Foss and Keola Holt.

The Polson Museum is located at 1611 Riverside Avenue in Hoquiam and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 360-533-5862 or visit www.polsonmuseum.org.
