A 33-year-old Quinault man is charged with raping two young girls.
Augustin Ochoa Cardenas pleaded not guilty Monday in Grays Harbor Superior Court to first-degree rape of a child, second-degree rape of a child, first-degree child molestation and second-degree child molestation.
The second-degree charges stem from allegations by a now-16-year-old girl who said Ochoa Cardenas raped her when she was 12. She told police she was afraid to tell because he “had anger problems and he was a drinker,” according to court documents.
She also told police Ochoa Cardenas raped another girl, who was 8 or 9 at the time. That girl, also now 16, said Ochoa Cardenas tied her to a bed and raped her. After about five minutes, the girl said she “started screaming louder for help and crying hard,” court documents state.
She said Ochoa Cardenas untied her, but told her “if she ever told anyone what happened he would kill someone in (her) family.”
