Randy Dennis receives United Way’ Joel Wolff award

United Way of Grays Harbor honored Randy Dennis of the Dennis Co. with the Joel Wolff Lifetime Community Service Award at the organizations annual meeting June 12.

Randy Dennis wasn’t able to attend the meeting, so Brent Dennis accepted the award on his brother’s behalf.

The Joel Wolff Community Service Award is named after long-time Wolff’s Department Store owner and operator Joel Wolff, who was born in 1908 and devoted his entire life to family, business and civic pursuits in Grays Harbor County. Randy Dennis is the face of the Dennis Co., a former member of the United Way board and an active member of the Aberdeen Rotary Club. He has also served with several other service organizations in Grays Harbor and Pacific counties.

“He often offers to help with something before he’s asked, and chances are, if you talk with a non-profit or service organization in Grays Harbor and Pacific counties, they will know Randy and appreciate the contributions made by the whole Dennis Co. family,” said Nora LeBlanc, executive director of the local United Way.

Margaret Carthum received this year’s Lynn Daneker Award for Outstanding Service for her unwavering support of United Way and the community.
