Dusty and Kathy Olson, winners of the 2013 “Red Car Raffle” benefiting the Polson Museum in Hoquiam, are shown with their prize, a”Milano Red” 2013 Honda CR-Z Hybrid Sports Coupe. The drawing was held last Saturday. The raffle fundraiser was again a sell-out with all 2,500 tickets sold nearly two weeks before the drawing. All proceeds from the raffle are used each year to support the museum’s annual operating budget. Central Elementary School students Michael Jump and Brianna Parmelee picked the winners. Dusty Olson of Hoquiam, is a life-long Harborite and retired millwright at various area sawmills. The Olsons came down to the museum shortly after the drawing and picked up their prize. The Polson’s raffle included two additional prizes. An Elton Bennett silkscreen went to Jack Shamafelt of Olympia and an iPad Mini went to Bobbi Willard of Westport. Museum director John Larson said museum staff and board members haven’t decided what vehicle they plan to raffle in 2014, but they know it will be red.
