State Patrol says DUI cause of fatal crash

A Taholah man died of his injuries Saturday morning after the vehicle he was driving left the road on State Route 12 near Moclips and overturned, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Trevis P. Jones, 38, was driving northbound at about 2:15 a.m., when his 2012 Dodge Ram pickup veered off the road, flipped over and landed on its top. Jones died as a result of the crash, according to the State Patrol.

The State Patrol said Jones was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

A passenger, Gregory A. Hakala, 47, also of Taholah, was taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital for his injuries and was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesperson.
