State Route 8 to be repaved, expect delays

MCCLEARY – Expect daytime delays in the eastbound lane of Highway 8 for repaving, starting Wednesday. Mileposts 4 to 10.5 are affected. They extend from about two miles west of McCleary to four miles east of McCleary at the Grays Harbor/Thurston County line.

Crews will often close the right eastbound lane in one-mile increments and speed limits will be reduced to 35 mph. Additional lane closure are expected through July. The work is weather dependent and could be rescheduled.

Here is the current work schedule:

8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, July 9-10. Crews will close shoulders in the project area to install construction signs.

9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 11, crews will repair the pavement in isolated locations.

9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 14-18, crews will rehabilitate the pavement and repave the right lane of the roadway.
