Two separate vehicle prowls were reported west of Elma between Sunday evening and Monday morning, according to the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office.
Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Shumate said Wednesday a navigational system and two sets of headphones were taken from a van at a home in the 100 block of Firlawn Drive off Monte Elma. A purse containing credit cards were taken from an SUV at a home on Hennick Place off Firlawn Drive, and fraudulent charges have already been made on some of the cards. Investigators are working on leads surrounding the charges.
Both vehicles were apparently unlocked at the time of the thefts, Shumate said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 360-249-3711.
