A truck crashed into the wall of Oceana Day Spa on Wishkah Street in Aberdeen Friday afternoon, apparently after being involved with an incident with another vehicle.
Aberdeen Police Department responded at about 1:40 p.m. to the intersection of Wishkah and Jefferson streets to a report of an injury accident.
Officers found a white pickup truck driven by a 65-year-old Montesano man had hit the front of the spa building at the southwest corner of the intersection, and a red minivan was on the east side of the spa. The driver of the van, a 74-year-old Cosmopolis woman, complained of neck and back pain, and the Aberdeen Fire Department transported her to Grays Harbor Community Hospital.
Officers determined the van had been heading southbound on Jefferson, stopped at the stop sign at Wishkah, then started to cross Wishkah. The driver struck the pickup truck, which was heading westbound on Wishkah.
The collision caused the pickup to strike the front of the building and the van to spin around, ending up on the sidewalk on the side of the building. Damage to the building appeared minor.
Traffic was not disrupted and the scene was cleared in about 50 minutes. The driver of the van was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
