Two Aberdeen teens injured in collision to avoid deer

Two teens were injured when their car swerved early Tuesday morning to miss a deer and hit a telephone pole at State Route 103 and 213th Place, about 7.5 miles north of Long Beach. Both are from Aberdeen, according to the State Patrol.

The 17-year-old male driver and the 15-year-old female passenger, who were not identified, were transported to Ocean Beach Hospital. No condition report was available Tuesday.

A 47-year-old Aberdeen man, also a passenger, was not injured.

The two-door car was headed southbound on State Route 103 when the vehicle swerved and crossed into the northbound lane, the State Patrol reported. No deer was found at the scene.

All occupants of the car were using seatbelts and drugs and alcohol were not involved, troopers reported. The driver did not have a valid driver’s license and had no insurance.

The roadway was completely blocked for about an hour after the accident.
