Used water meters sold

The Aberdeen City Council unanimously approved Wednesday the sale of 3,900 used water meters to Paymore Recycling in Aberdeen for $1.10 per pound. The city should take in roughly $15,015 from the sale of the surplus water meters.

The water meters have been replaced by new, smart water meters that can better measure use and leaks.

A previous bid was removed from consideration due to errors at the last council meeting on May 28.
