A “punk” act that performs early Van Halen hits will be a headline act during the Grays Harbor County Fair.
The Grays Harbor County commissioners approved a $6,000 contract on Monday to bring the Atomic Punks to the fairgrounds for a concert on Aug. 8. The contract notes they’re known as a touring tribute band specializing in the days David Lee Roth fronted the rock band Van Halen.
The commissioners also approved a $2,500 agreement to bring local band Humptulips back to the fair on Aug. 8. The band performed a “barn dance” to great success at last year’s fair.
Meantime, fans of country artist Thomas Rhett may want to purchase guaranteed “golden circle” tickets for his Wednesday, Aug. 6 performance at the fair. Rhett is known for his songs, “It Goes Like This,” “Something to Do with My Hands” and “Beer with Jesus.”
Tickets are free with admission to all shows, but the “golden tickets” for Rhettt are $40 and go on sale starting 9 a.m., March 8 at the fairgrounds office, 32 Elma-McCleary Road in Elma.
