VFW and Westport Brewery hosting brewfest Saturday

James H. Doolittle VFW Post No. 3057 in Westport and the Westport Brewing Co. will host the inaugural “Keepin’ it Coastal” Brewfest on the VFW grounds, located at 211 E. Pacific Ave. in Westport. This is an over-21 function.

The event supports local VFW Post membership, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Wounded Warriors program. Guest brewers are coming from Washington, Oregon and California. Local music is planned, along with the craft beer lineup.

A silent, dessert auction is planned, with the money going to the Wounded Warrior Program.

The VFW kitchen will be open with pulled pork sandwiches, along with more local food options.

Dogs are welcome outside and a Best Dressed Dog contest is planned in the afternoon.

The price of admission is $30 at the gate. Admission includes eight samples of craft beer, a souvenir sampling glass and access to food and craft vendors. Beer tickets will be on sale on site.

The gate opens at 1 p.m. and the last pour is at 8 p.m. Music, dancing and bar drinks will be available inside the VFW Post Home with the band Catch of the Day playing from 8 p.m. until closing.

Are you a non-drinker? Your ticket includes the same access to events, a souvenir glass and soda.
