VFW reopens for food, fundraiser on Memorial Day


Burgers and dogs will be served at the renewed VFW building at 105 E. Heron St. on Monday, Memorial Day. The post has been closed for two years for renovation.

The barbecue is also a fund raising event to help pay for repairs to the building.

Hamburgers, baked beans, chips and pop is $8 or substitute a hotdog and it will be $7, said Nell Todd, Auxiliary President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. “We will also hold a raffle for several baskets and a 50/50.”

It’s also an opportunity to renew membership, Commander Jim Daly said. All are welcome to the event which goes from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Donations may also be made at Anchor Bank.
