Wenatchee couple thrown from motorcycle north of Hoquiam


A Wenatchee couple was thrown from their motorcycle Saturday when the driver hit a ditch north of Hoquiam.

Douglas Fehrer, 49, and Kimberley Fehrer, 54, were heading south on Highway 109 just north of Chabot Road, about 18 miles north of Hoquiam at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday when their motorcycle went off the road to the right, according to a memo from the Washington State Patrol. When the bike hit a ditch, both riders were thrown from the motorcycle.

Both were injured and transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital. Both were wearing helmets.

Douglas Fehrer, who was driving, is listed in the memo as the prelimary cause of the crash. He may face charges for negligent driving, the memo stated.
